Résumé
The aim of biophysical research is to study biological material using physical tools. One field of biophysics is the biomechanic, which characterize the mechanical properties of living matter. Several methods are used depending to the scale.
The atomic force microscope is one of the more powerful and precise tool to image and study the mechanical properties of soft matter. Despite its ease of use, the data analysis is not standardized and difficult.
OpenFovea is an attempt to introduce standardized post-processing of AFM data by using the advantage of open-source software.
Biographie
Charles Roduit obtained his DrSc at the EPFL, Lausanne in 2007 and is actually post-doc at the university of Lausanne. During his DrSc, He developed an AFM post-processing software that was sold to a private company. After this experience, he rewrote the entire software and released it with a open-source license (OpenFovea). He also developed a python module to read images recorded with confocal microscope (PyLSM) during his post-doc at EMBL, Heidelberg.
