Résumé
RadioDNS is an open technology that lets broadcast radio and the internet work together : enhancing the listener experience, and making radio better. It works with FM, DAB/DAB+ digital radio, Digital Radio Mondiale et HD Radio. Many free/open tools for broadcasters to enable hybrid radio services for their stations such as visualisation, program guide, service following. EBU has also developed a a set of tools with a RadioVIS server, an online platform, a Content Manager platform for creating visual radio and other tools for display. This presentation will present briefly what hybrid radio is, RadioDNS and explain how to enable hybrid radio for a broadcast station using the free/open tools available. http://www.ebulabs.org
Biographie
Michael Barroco is studying Computer Science at the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He developed the EBU RadioDNS production and reception tools and the online content manager service for EBU which were presented at IBC 2010 and 2011. Before joining the EBU, Mr Barroco was involved with the student radio station, Fréquence Banane, and worked for a commercial broadcaster as a DJ.
